Homemade Sloppy Joe Recipe

This recipe has been a favorite in our family for many, many years. It's fast, easy and very delicious! 

1 pound ground chuck
1/4 cup olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
1 medium green bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, diced fine
1 large (28 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 small (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 cup water
1 Tbs. salt
Optional: 1 tsp. dry chili pepper flakes

1) Sauté’ ground chuck, onion, green pepper, and garlic in olive oil until ground chuck browned through & vegetables are tender.
2) Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste and water. Bring to boil.
3) Turn down heat. Add salt, and chili pepper (if using).
4) Simmer for approximately one hour, uncovered, or until obtaining a thick consistency.

Serve on toasted hamburger buns. Enjoy!
